Privacy Policy

FluentSide ("we") helps you improve your writing while you use ChatGPT. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have. FluentSide is operated by Achraf Ayar.

What we collect

  • Account information from Google or Notion sign-in, through our authentication provider: your name, email address and profile picture.
  • Your preferences: learning and explanation languages, self-reported level, coaching mode, goal, timezone, retention choice and the date you gave consent.
  • Corrections sent by ChatGPT, only after you give consent during setup: sentences of yours that contained mistakes, their corrected versions, short explanations, mistake categories, the language and the time they were received.
  • Connection details: an identifier for each connected ChatGPT client and when it last called FluentSide.
  • Learning activity: the lessons suggested to you each day and which you marked as completed.

What we do not collect

  • Your full ChatGPT conversations, ChatGPT's answers, or sentences you wrote correctly.
  • Your Google or Notion password. Sign-in is handled by Google or Notion and our authentication provider.
  • Advertising or analytics tracking. FluentSide uses no analytics or advertising cookies.

How we use it

Only to provide FluentSide: showing your mistake history and progress, suggesting lessons, telling ChatGPT your coaching preferences, and keeping your account secure. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. FluentSide does not send your sentences to any AI model; the analysis is done by ChatGPT in your own conversation, under OpenAI's terms.

Service providers

We rely on these providers to run FluentSide. They process data on our behalf:

  • An authentication service provider: sign-in and account security.
  • Google: sign-in with your Google account.
  • Notion: sign-in with your Notion account. FluentSide does not access your Notion pages or workspaces.
  • Cloudflare: hosting and network delivery.
  • Neon: database hosting.

Suggested lesson videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When the Suggested Lessons page loads, your browser connects to YouTube, which receives your IP address and browser details under Google's privacy policy. FluentSide sends YouTube nothing about you or your sentences.

Where data is stored

Your data is stored in the United States (Neon database, AWS N. Virginia region) and served through Cloudflare's global network. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, these transfers rely on our providers' data processing agreements, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Retention

You choose how long your saved sentences are kept: 30 days, 90 days, 365 days, or until you delete them. Expired sentences and their corrections are deleted automatically within 24 hours. Reports are computed from the data that remains, so deleted data no longer affects them. Account information is kept until you delete your account.

Your controls and rights

  • Pause collection, disconnect ChatGPT, or change retention at any time in Settings and Connections.
  • Delete individual sentences, all learning data, or your whole account from Settings.
  • You may ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to its processing, by emailing achrafayar00@gmail.com.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Every request is checked against your own account, and sentence text is kept out of our logs. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you as required by law.

Children

FluentSide is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email.
